As a strong high pressure has extended to cover the upper part of Thailand and South China Sea, outbreaks of cool to cold spells are likely from Sunday to Tuesday, according to the 11am advisory of the Meteorogical Department on Sunday.
A decrease in temperature is likely by 1-3 degree Celcius, with windy conditions. Therefore, people should beware of severe and changeable weather conditions.
From Feb 12-16, the strong northeast monsoon prevailing across the Gulf of Thailand and the South will result in waves 2-3 metres high, and people living along the Gulf's coastline should be cautious about inshore surges.
All vessels are advised to proceed with caution, and small boats should stay ashore during the period, said the advisory.
